Uncertain Times

The new financial year has been born into uncertain times. Developments between Britain and the rest of Europe, the posturing of presidential candidates in the USA, a Federal election that had not been held at the time this article was written, conflict and wars, terrorism attacks and debate over the redefinition of marriage and other gender issues dominate the media and pubic commentary.

In the words of a song of the 60’s “all we need is something to believe in, something we can depend on not to change”. We are thankful that the gospel message and the One who inspired it is immutable – He does not change. He is the same yesterday, today and tomorrow and holds our future in His hand.

But as a church, we need to understand and respond to the times in which we live. What does that mean, how do we need to adapt? We started the month by listening to God through a half day of united prayer, now we need to be ‘strong and courageous and do the things he instructs us to do’ (Joshua 1:7).

The new year promises to be an interesting time – join us in the journey!
