Something We Can Depend On

Like many who grew up in the 60’s I struggled with finding meaning in life. One of the songs that made an impression on me contained the lyrics: “All we need is something that we can lean on, something we can depend on not to change”.

Abraham, long ago found the one he could depend on and commemorated that at a place called Beersheba. He was and is El Olam, The Everlasting God. When everything else seems temporary, or prone to change He is the one we can lean, who we can depend on never to change.

He doesn’t get weary or tired and his understanding is without limit. He is the one we worship, and on Sunday we will explore why this is so important today.
