Radical Identification

You have probably heard the phrase that we are to be ‘in the world, but not of the world’. It is most likely drawn from the words of Jesus in John 14, but what does it mean. Are we, as Christians, supposed to live in an unworldly manner, as someone said, so heavenly minded that we are no earthly use?

Or does it mean we somehow have to conduct ourselves in the world as though we are citizens of it, just like everyone else? How do we live out the words of Jesus, what did he really mean?

I think he is calling us to radically identify with our world, to be revolutionaries – but how is that possible? Come on Sunday to find out!
