Muster Up

If you told a country and western fan you were going to the muster, he might think you were going to put on your cowboy boots, grab your guitar and head bush. If you said the same thing to a military person, she might expect you to line up for inspection, while if you were told to go to the muster point while at work, you may be participating in an evacuation. At another time you may be talking about the collective noun of a group of peacocks!

The last gate on Nehemiah’s tour was the Muster Gate, sometimes referred to as the Inspection Gate. This was the place where the army was counted and inspected. When does God call us to muster? And where does that happen and why? On Sunday, we’ll try to discover the answers to those questions!
