A Pleasant Valley?

The idea of a valley often evokes thoughts of verdant, rolling hills and gently flowing streams. A place to rest after an arduous climb or somewhere to build your dream home.

For the people who lived in Jerusalem however, the Valley and the gate that lead to it had entirely different effect. It was a place associated with death, human sacrifice and worship of false gods. It was a dark and gloomy place that leant its name to images of future judgment.

It was the gate to this valley that Nehemiah turned his attention to now. What are the valley’s in our lives and the gates that lead to them? How do they affect our relationship with God and with each other? Come on Sunday to find out!
